AD-W4 was a Mercenary droid hired by General Grievous to oversee Separatist operations on Hissrich. He came to face Mace Windu on two occasions. The first time, the droid managed to beat Windu, but he lost the second time. Knowing he had been defeated, AD-W4 detached his head from his body in an attempt to flee the pursuing Jedi Master, but Windu used the Force to crush his head.
