The Commerce Guild was a commerce cartel that was well known for it's trade and for being run by Gossams and Sullustans. The DSD1 dwarf spider droid was part of the private army of the Commerce Guild. Shu Mai and the other Guild heads pledged their support and full backing to the Confederacy of Independent Systems while maintaining neutrality in the Senate of the Galactic Republic.
