Depa Billaba was a female Chalactan Jedi Master and a Jedi Council Member during her time.  She trained the jedi, Caleb Dume. She had a sister named Sar Labooda.

Depa Billaba was trained by Mace Windu and favoured Form III

Master Billaba served on the high council during the Naboo Crisis right up until the Separatist Crisis.  Her sister, Sar Labooda died during the Battle of Geonosis. She wasn't present on the council during the Clone Wars for unknown reasons but she took on the apprentice Caleb Dume and trained him while still becoming a Jedi General, leading Commander Grey and his troopers.

Master Depa Billaba came back onto the council later during the war when Quinlan Vos went on his mission to assassinate Count Dooku.

During the Battle of Kaller, Master Billaba and Caleb commanded their troops against General Kleeve's forces.  When Palpatine activated Order 66, their own Clone Troopers turned on them and Billaba told Caleb to run before dying from the Clone's blasts.

Caleb ran from the empire, trying to conceal his identity and stay moving.  He changed his name to Kanan Jarrus and never forgot his masters sacrifice.  He later had an apprentice of his own, Ezra Bridger. During training, Kanan would often refer to her or use teachings that she taught him during his training.

Behind the Scenes Edit

Depa Billaba was set to appear in the Clone Wars Utuapau legacy Arc but never did. Dipika O'Neill Joti played the character in Star Wars Episode I. Reappearing in episode 2 using recycled footage during the council scenes, Billaba was meant to be at the Battle of Geonosis but the Character of Sar Labooda was established when the actors looked too different. This is much the same with Eeth Koth and Adi Gallia, who became Agen Kolar and Stass Allie and movies II and III, their original characters still appearing in the Council Scenes of Episode II.
